Health care is not a right for the elite, wealthy, fortunate citizens with good full time jobs…it is a HUMAN right. We fully support any legislation which will:

1. Make quality care, required medication and medical services
(including preventative care, prenatal/maternal care and mental
health care) available to every person in this country regardless
of status, past medical history or income level.

2. Modernize our healthcare system to reduce costs and errors.

3. Hold insurance companies, doctors and hospitals accountable for
fair, just, and quality treatment.

Jesus gave us the responsibility of caring for the sick – this is a common theme regarding Godly action and rule in the Old Testament as well, and a command to the Christians to intervene on  behalf of the sick.

Scriptures reflecting the values:

Matthew 14:14
When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their
sick.

Ezekiel 34:4

You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.

Matthew 25:44-46

“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you? He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
