Christian Democrats of America is the largest voice for Christian Democrats in the United States, providing a platform for progressives and Democrats of faith. With more than 200,000 online followers and a reach of millions each month, CDA exists to challenge and transform the public perception of what “Christian values” in politics truly mean — and what it means to be a Christian voter.

CDA was founded in 2006 by Christina Forrester as a simple idea on MySpace. At the time, nearly every “Christian” voice represented in the media and political sphere was aligned with the religious right. For Christina, that version of Christianity — rooted in exclusion, power, and fear — was unrecognizable as the teachings of Jesus. CDA began as a place to give voice to Christians who were Democrats, progressives, and people of conscience who believed faith must be rooted in justice, compassion, and love of neighbor.

What started as a small online space has grown into a national movement. Today, Christian Democrats of America reaches millions each month as more people of faith deconstruct Christian nationalism, reject religious extremism, and seek a faith that reflects the life and teachings of Jesus.

Our work centers on caring for the least of these, loving our neighbors, welcoming the stranger, and living out values of compassion and dignity — not only in our individual daily lives, but on a national, social, and political level.

Christian Democrats of America is not just a platform — it is a movement. And it is still being built.
